What are these hoses? 06 bmw 330i
Been looking at engine diagrams but can't seem to find what these hoses are? They have a crack so I would like to replace them. Engine is also throwing a lean code, would they likely be the culprit?

Thanks for posting the photos Strada Redlands.
Would this be the cause of lean code? |

Yes, if those were cracked it would cause a vacuum leak.

No, because on these engines, the brake booster does not use engine intake vacuum. The vacuum there is supplied by a vacuum pump, it does not have any connection to intake. The end of that hose shown on the picture actually ends up at the vacuum pump if you follow it, somewhere under the alternator and power steering pump, part of the engine block. The other end goes to the brake booster. If it leaks you would have stiff brake pedal after car is turned off and sits for sometime. And if it leaks badly, you will lose brake booster completely and will have to push very hard on the brake pedal to get the car to slow down.

Hello it's been a while, still waiting on my part, but should be here shortly. If I even need it now🤔
Thanks for the information PhaseP. The other day I finished a 800km trip and at the very end (luckily) my brake pedal got hard to press, almost like I couldn't press more than half way. This is accompanied by the ebrake light staying on and picture telling me to jack the car and service. So today I went and checked brake fluid, pads front and rear, they checked out. But I noticed this wire on my rear passenger side. It's a black line with a little black wire and a little green wire coming out of it. I can't see any sensors, so I am confused to what it connects too, checked the other side and there isn't one there Going to have to dig deeper by the sounds of it to find my lean issue aswell! |

Is posting photos a full member thing? Or am I an idiot. Also worth mentioning performed a smoke test and saw nothing...
