UK X1/iX1 Order Thread

So if anyone has ordered a new U11 X1 or is about to post how you get on and what deals, have you managed to get, or none in the current climate. And what delivery dates are you looking at.

I'm *eagerly* awaiting the configurator.

It’s been live since the car was announced in the UK, no brochure / pdf for the model mind which is a tad annoying but can certainly spec a car up. They have simplified it quite a bit but also driven the price up by having a PRO spec that gets you virtually everything.

So no ability to go for an Msport and spec a few bits and add a HUD, you have to go for the full Pro for that which sweeps in a load of things many might not want.

Lower 25e and 20i models not released either yet but they did the same on the 2AT to get the sales of the higher models first before adding them to the configurator.

It's been live in Canada for weeks now, but not in the US. It's very frustrating. It's wicked cheap if you use the Canada build and then convert the total to USD, but I suspect that's not going to be the case when it comes time to order it for real.

Not so cheap in the UK at all especially due to the extra spec that is getting added to some configs.

It might be the reason that the US isn't getting some models due to them aiming for market share and not profit. If they can sell everything they can they might focus on markets they can secure the profit from potentially.

Thanks looks great.

We went in to ask about the X1 today and sat in a 2 series Active Tourer that has the same interior. Wife loved it so that bodes well but no X1 in to look at yet.

Asked about ordering an iX1 or 30e and was told they can’t order them yet. In the uk specs are Premier or Premier Pro spec on the M-Sport with the pro including almost everything even comes with a tow bar for the launch models which seems odd.

So got to wait until we can order as they are only taking petrol and diesel models in the UK so he was saying.

Oh and zero discount, might get warranty extension and 5 year servicing but nothing else off.

You should still be able to place a deposit on a reserved allocation build slot. I have done this at my local dealer a couple of months ago, so I am front of line for their first delivery.

Not sure how people are saying that they have "ordered"as to my knowledge the configurator is not live anywhere including Germany. I suspect they have a slot the same as what I have quoted above.

I am going for a M- Sport Premier Pro in Storm Bay which should only need a few options adding (sun protection glass, heated steering wheel, high gloss black exterior and disgusting blue trim deletion). Car needs to be below £56K with discount and delivery by end of January or I will take the Tesla Model Y I have on order.

Dealer said the configurator and ability to order the petrol and diesels was all good, anything else was on a promise and they weren’t ready to take an order. however we really want a 25e that hasn’t been announced yet so I’m a different position. They will bring those in to order towards the end of the probably but she isn’t in a rush.

What engine / model have you gone for iX1?

I am interested in the iX1 30e, I believe the 25e is next year around springtime.

Well just received my quote from the UK configurator and I think I will be passing on the iX1 as the pricing is high. £61K wow I may as well get another iX3. £56k Tesla MY is looking like a bargain now.

OMFG that is crazy, as you say you would be better going up. They have certainly priced it high compared to rivals and no discounts. But if the demand is there and they sell what does BMW car.

I suspect increased interest rates and low discounts will hold sales back but if supply is low maybe they don’t care and are happy to suck the profits in.

X line starts at £51k and the M Sport £54k. Most of the options are in packs. I have managed to remove leather seats and sunroof to get the price down to a price I am happy with. Discount is out there if you push hard enough….

Cheers, the issue is she wants the HUD as she has it now, so that flips you into the Premier Pro spec which has pretty much everything. Unless they aren't doing that on the iX1.

Currently waiting for the 25e to be released which is likely towards the end of the year for deliver in 23 I expect. It will be interesting what the interest rate rises and increase supply of components do to discounts over the coming months. Those looking for PCP deals might be shocked at the deals I suspect.

Question for you chaps on the other side of the pond. In the US, base price of the X1 xDrive 2.8 is $38,600 or about 31,775 pounds. Fully loaded is $46,500 or 38,250 pounds. What drives the price up in the UK? VAT?

VAT is 20% in the UK. We also pay delivery charge, first registration and tank of fuel normally (currently about $10 per gallon lol).

They are only releasing X-line and M Sport versions in the UK. You have to pay for the Technology Plus Pack at £1,150 for the following:

248 Heated Steering Wheel 322 Comfort Access
430 Folding Wing Mirrors with Auto-dimming
431 Rear-view Mirror with Auto dimming
4NR Interior Camera
552 Adaptive LED Headlights
5AC High-Beam Assistant
5DN Parking Assistant Plus
610 Head-Up Display
6NX Storage for wireless charging
6U3 Live Cockpit Professional

Don’t know if that helps?

That’s useful so can you just get that on the m-sport model and you don’t have to add more, the rest is lost on her?

You can’t get just a single pack on the petrol and diesel at the moment it’s either fully loaded with a few bits at the moment or just the premier spec. So she would have to get the pro to get the HUD that included that tech plus pack and panoramic roof and more, even the tow hook comes in that spec.

I have only seen the configurator specs for the M Sport, I will look tomorrow and let you know if it is possible to spec the HUD outside of the Tech Plus Pack. It does seem to be that the iX1, will be a completely different configurator to the Petrol & Diesel offerings. I was hoping they would offer a Premier Pro Model, but that hasn't happened from what I have been told. Tow bar is a £795 option, sunroof is a £1,000 option so both are not included as part of the packs.

Interesting if that was the case for the spec she wants we might be better looking at the iX1 or see what they do with X1 30e and 25e and see if they go premier and premier pro..?

On discounts and things I was reading that dealers are already seeing a bit of a slowdown as people start to spend less and their options are fewer with the interest rates killing the PCP deals.

Figured I’d revive this thread to track orders of the new X1 as they are sprinkled across a few atm. I’m sitting at scheduled for production which my genius has said is slated at week 36 beginning the week of the 5th sept.

Cape York exterior with xLine and 19” Y spoke rims
Oyster interior
Premium package
Heated steering and seats
Sport seats
Remote start

I just realized this is a UK thread, should we combine all orders or else I’m happy to make a new thread for us “Yankees”

I'm also at scheduled for production, for week 36. My Massachusetts dealer is saying delivery in October, so I'm hopeful but know it could be longer than that.

San Remo green with mocha interior
Standard tires
Premium
Heated seats & steering wheel
Sport seats
Remote start
