Does 2022 m340 with mpe pops and cracks?

Folks with 2021/2022 m340 with MPE, does the car pops and cracks or just a moderate burb when downshifting? I like moderate burbs but want nothing too loud to annoy the pedestrians.

I have a 2022 m340 on order with mpe. I test drove one without the mpe and it sounds fine. Call me weird but I do not like predictable pops and bangs. The stock exhaust has a light burb when down shift, I like it. I added mpe hoping to amplify the tune a bit but I DO NOT WANT POP AND CRACKS SORRY.

I would straight up not buy a car with a burble tune like the 2020 has, so you definitely aren't alone there. I could get way more in depth with my distain for them but don't wanna offend 2020 owners so I'll leave it at that lol

I don't think the MPE adds much in the way of pops/crackles, lots of videos on youtube you can check out. It's a specific tune that causes it.

No you will be just fine - the MPE (which is just a muffler) will simply amplify what you already like
Congrats on the order - looking forward to hearing about your delivery

For All:
Good or bad (it's subjective) I think most all 2020's have been neutered by software updates at this point (almost unavoidable with the recent brake recall) - my 2020 in stock mode certainly does not sound like what it did when I took delivery - that said the exhaust note is up to me thanks to my Mission Performance tune

I have the MPE on my 2022 and it does subtle pops on throttle lift off even in comfort. For many people it does not pop and crackle enough but for me it's perfect. Not annoying at all.

Not sure if you know about this, but MPEs are being taken off orders. Your build is likely affected too. Here's the bulletin

Loves your golf R. I used to own a stage 2 mk7.5 GTI and it was great. Surprised you are going to get the m340 instead of waiting for the new RS3, looks like a more natural upgrade. I struggled a lot between the two and decided I like the look of m340 more, and it is bigger for my one year old son.

The new RS3 was a heavy contender but it's gunna be like 2 years before any of those hit the states and even then it'll be in small numbers so a crazy markup is gunna be the norm, and they'll be pushing 70k properly optioned msrp anyway. I think the M340 is a better deal plus you can actually get one
