Canadian 08 M3 DO NOT need TPMS

Just in case there is any doubt out there. I have been running my snow tires WITHOUT TPMS for couple days now.

This can be confirmed buy going to your settings menu in I drive, and opening vehicle/tires. If FTM is on the top cross bar then the system uses the ABS sensors to detect difference in wheel speed.

I think TPMS is required in the US. It isn't in Canada. Cheaper for BMW and the consumer not to have it.

Hi,

How did you manage to remove the sensors from the wheel? You have to go to a tire place to do it, no? I bought my winter setup with TPMS because I didn't realize at the time that Canadian M3 don't need them

youd have to remove the tires altogether to take the tpms out... but if u have a car that doesnt need tpms and you have them in your wheels, i say just leave it there... take them out next time when its time to get your tires changed... otherwise u'd be spending extra $$ on mounting and unmounting your wheel

I was under the impression the vehicles that don't have the valve-stem sensors (like mine) have the sensors in the braking system.
