the NEW JB3 1.2

ok so shiv has thrown out a few times that the JB3 is now obsolete and that there has to be a new board made to be able to use a few features. He calims that Terry is "too busy" cause he is making a new JB3 to work with his guage.

True? False?

and if im a JB3 owner, can i get the 2nd revision of the new hardware for free or am i paying an upgrade fee? or are we JB3 users SOL?

+1 on that one any day.

Terry has never left his customers behind when it comes to upgrades. I'd say he's the best among ANY tuner at this.

JB3 1.2 is an update to the existing JB3. You don't need to go out and purchase a whole new unit. Terry fees are always reasonable and I'm sure this one won't be different.

i'm guessing it's changing that little chip that holds the maps like going from 1.0 to 1.1

From what i heard, the 1.2 will house the same 1.1 map as the default map aswell, but give people who are looking for user adjustablilty the cure for it.

It will be the same JB3 but a option to if the users want this adjustability. Some wants this, some don't. I for one am not interested so i dont opt for this option.

"With the gauge you will receive a new JB3 control box with a DB9 connector on it in addition to the DB25 connector, and this plugs in to the DB9 connector. Running it inside the car takes 5-10 min."-Terry@BMS

Think of it as a adapter. It will still have the 1.1 as the default, but you can now change settings if you want.
Which im not a fan of since i don't know jack about it v1.1 and go is good for me hahah.

new JB3 control box is needed... the new box will have the db25 pin connector on it, as well as an addition db9 pin/rs232 connector for the BMS gauge that will allow you to fine tune

I think it will be a chip upgrade like some of you have said, the only catch is that u have to purchase his new guage in order to access the map changing capabilities and user changing variables, all this will be done via the guage...So in doing so its like a upgrade, but really not because you have to purchase his new guage...PNP 579 plus whatever his guage cost will be the upgrade price!! Marketing skills at its best!

no, you will need a new JB3 control box with the extra 9 pin com port... already stated by Terry. Probably have a new chip inside that too tho

did the price offically drop to 579? or are you referring to the group buy pricing from rixster? is the JB3 going to officially drop to 579 then for the pnp?

To anyone that is going for a tune of their cars, I would suggest waiting at least 1 months time to see where both tunes are, so you can make your decisions then of what best fits your needs...Both are great and both have their differences, but the question is where are you going to spend your money!!!

i stand corrected... 1.2 is just a chip upgrade. If you want the BMS gauge, then you will need a few more things, but again, Terry/BMS takes care of it's customer's

And figured I'd clear up the confusion. 1.2 is a software update, which includes gas pedal map switching, lots of new maps, lagfix 2.0, and some back end changes we will need for users who elect for the gauge / tuning tool. It comes on a chip and will cost $20ish, and free for JB3 customers who have purchased in the past 90 days.

The optional gauge / tuning cool connects to the JB3 via a DB9 connector, which sandwiches between the chip and the JB3 to access power, ground, and the RS232 pins. We may just ship you a new box with the DB9 connector on it and you can ship back the old one. That might be where the confusion is coming from but we have not made a final decision on that yet. Gauge price is in the $279 range including the DB9 connector.

Now I go back to work!
