Attn Shiv / V3.1 Users

Can someone post a quick and step by step method of downloading the new Procede v3.1 reader. I was able to download the Procede 2.0 reader (old version) but I cannot get the new version with all the user adjustable options to open. I keep getting all the stupid dll errors and missing file errors everyone was complaining about when it was first released. I have searched and tried to follow the instructions on the thread it was released on to no avail. With these new updates I think more and more people are going to have issues and will need a simple method to download the new reader as was the norm with the older Procede 2.0 reader. it was soo easy to download the Procede 2.0 reader. Why is this new version such a misison. Thanks in advance!

To download the v3.1 beta software, just click on this. To run it, all you have to do is put it in your existing "Procede" folder (C:->Program Files->Procede) with the current .exe file. And just fire it up from there.

The reason you didn't have any issue with the old v2 software was because it was a complete self-installable. This is just an .exe file and needs to go into the correct folder so it can use the other necessary file that were installed when you installed the v2 software. When we make it goes to non-beta status, we'll have another fully self-installable version of the software.

This tricked me for a couple minutes too.

People have different XP interfaces setup, so you might have to do a start-search and just type procede. When you find the folder, don't move it! Just drag and drop the new downloaded file into that folder.
**At this point, you can make a shortcut directly to the new file, and launch it from the quickstart bar.**

Don't open the new maps with the old software, because the user torque settings will look really strange, and you won't have access to everything you need.

Hope this helps.

SHiv best bet is to make a link like you use to for downloads at YOUR website...Its makes the download 1000000 times better...11-4 update was a breeze!!! This website does something to your files and make downloads a chore!

The link I posted comes from our own server. So there should not be any of the problems that we encountered when posting .zip files on this site.

Shiv

I think my issue was that I was taking the files directly from this site. I will gather them from the Vishnu forum going forward. Thanks everyone for the much needed advice!

Hahah i didnt try all this time man! I just tried it now when I got home from work. Took me 10 minutes. Still no fun at all!

Quick question for you guys. When adjusting the user values are they stored in the software or do the settings go back default after closing the reader? I changed my settings, clicked apply then ok and closed the reader. When i opened the reader back up all my settings were gone (back to default). How exactly do we upload these settings onto the Procede? When you are online with the Procede, change settings, hit apply and ok?

You should do a "save as" after you do custom settings. This will let you save the map as is and create a custom map setup.
