What percent off MSRP can I expect?

Approximately what percent off MSRP should I reasonably expect on a base 2021 330i?
Also, how long does it take from ordering to delivery?

Thanks

I just made a purchase yesterday on a 330i. The sticker was a hair under $50k and I got it down to about $43.5

I think on a 330 12% off MSRP plus incentives is where to target. I was able to get 10% off on my 340, and with the 330 being the volume model you should be able to get a little more.

How exactly do you guys go about negotiating this? Do you just tell them your price right out the door (-10%) or what?

It depends on your region. I couldn't get 10% off here in the Bay Area. Other places people got it no problem. I used a broker.

I tried the "here's my price" method with my CPO and it got me nowhere, lol. I ended up paying the dealer's price but it was a good price to begin with IMO.

If you're leasing, a broker is no doubt the way to go. I solidified my deal in about 5 minutes, venmoed the broker, had a production number the same day and took delivery a month a half later on a custom build. I was in and out of the dealership in 10 minutes when picking it up. I got 9% off (pre incentive) on a 340 and could have gotten 10% off it it wasn't a build.

If you're not leasing, disregard

This is exactly how I went about it. I did a bunch of research (the leasehacker website forums are great for this) on what other people were paying as well as what brokers were offering and concluded 10% off was attainable in the Chicago area. I found a car I liked and emailed the dealer if they would give me 10% of MSRP plus incentives and base money factor I'd come in and buy the next day. I lucked out this time in that the first dealer I emailed accepted, but otherwise I would have tried a different dealer.

As TruthOne said, it does depend on region. Seems the NE market has the potential to get really good pricing. Chicago wasn't terrible, as I have like 8 dealers within 50 miles of me so they are competitive.

For the CPO/used market, I've read that most dealers advertise those online at competitive prices and there's not a lot of wiggle room, as it's easy to see what other are pricing their CPO/used cars at, so that doesn't surprise me as much.

m240nj makes a good point. I knew what brokers could offer based on what I had seen on leasehacker and used that to negotiate my deal. If you don't have the time or aren't comfortable with negations, a broker is 100% the way to go.

That was where I made my mistake. I walked into the dealership acting like hot shit thinking I could negotiate the car all the way down... Was quickly brought to my senses. I don't think you can negotiate a used car like you used to for the reasons you mentioned!

I feel like it’s pretty easy to get a fair price now with all the information out there on the internet. I’m not old enough to have purchased a car in the pre-internet days, but I’d imagine it was a lot more work to get a good deal!

I got the dealer down to 8% plus incentives totaling to $8000 off in discounts on the MSRP. I live in the New England area. Going to lock it down today

I got 10% off MRSP pre-incentives and 0.9% 60-month financing on my M440i convertible. I was told they had a little more room on the othr models.

That's a great deal. When I was doing my research, there seemed to be a little more wiggle room on the 3 series as opposed to the 4, so you did really well (especially for a convertible)!

I don’t know where you guys find these 10% off deals. SoCal dealers do not want to make the deals mentioned here. I got one dealer to take 10% off MSRP for my custom order but they jacked up the money factor and reduced the lease rebate. I am not even sure if they are allowed to do that. Lease cash is supposed to be $1500 on the M340i this month but they offered $1000.

I could technically order the car from these guys and finance. They also jacked up the APR to 1.4% from 0.9%. But they at least honor the $2500 APR credit. I can buy the car and pay it off right away. On the other hand I am not sure how good of an idea is to buy a BMW.

Please let me know if you know some dealers willing to make a good deal. I really do wish the dealership model disappears soon. Tesla is doing that right. Sorry for the rant.

Best I've been able to find is 5% off MSRP before incentives. But the build wouldn't include passenger lumbar support, which I can't accept in good conscience. I wonder if "pandemic bimmers" will be collectible one day.

There's a big supply/demand imbalance at the moment that looks like it will last through the end of this year, at a minimum. Add in some serious inflationary costs of raw materials due to supply shortages and gov'mint stimmy checks and it's a perfect storm.

Short answer is: killer deals are going to be hard to come by for the near future.

The rebate/lease cash is through BMW USA, not the dealer, so I have no idea their rationale on how they can lower that. They're probably just telling you they'll offer you $1,000 and pocketing the difference.

It does seem that supply has gotten significantly lower in the past month and 1/2 since I bought my car. At that time, my dealer had 11 new M340's on the lot plus about 6 demo models. Now they are down to 5 new ones.
