Arrow **NEW** - PAGID Brake pads now available for 335i/d

Just to let people know -

Pagid have finally released their upgraded brake pads in both front and rear fitments for the 335i and 335d.

The pad pattern numbers are as follows:

335i/d FRONT - Pagid # 8053
335i/d REAR - Pagid # 8051

The pads will be available in the following flavours -

Pagid 4-2-1 Black (fast road pad, standard OEM pad on Aston Martin, Ferrari, Lamborghini etc)

Pagid 4-2 Blue (fast road pad, higher friction co-efficient than the 4-2-1 Black pad, greater fade resistance, excellent cold friction, possibility of very slight pad squeal when cold)

Pagid RS19 Yellow (endurance track pad, low wear characteristics, suitable for Nurburgring and other track days, not ideal for general road use due to excessive pad squeal and reduced cold friction)

Pagid RS29 Yellow (development of the RS19, with higher friction levels and greater fade resistance)

Pads for the 320-325 models, and the 330 models, will be following in due course.

Pads for the 135i (and consequently the BMW Performance Brake Kit) will be available within the next three to four weeks.

where do you guys normaly get these from?

i fancy some, but will remove them after each track day and put the OEM pad back in. its not too much of a faf, but probably worth the avoidence brown trouser moment first thing in the morning of a drive to work!

You should go through Ant at www.speedreligion.net

Speedreligion.net is likely to be cheaper than going through CBP (below), as Ant has a wholesale purchasing deal, and he sponsors our forum

Or if you need more info on Pagid products, contact Competition Brake Products directly (Pagid UK distributors), at www.racepads.co.uk or 01748 831200.

Thats exactly what im doing.

I had the Pagids put on with some braided hoses and some race brake fluid and the braking performance was mega.

The only downside was the noise.

Ant removed them and replaced them with the oems.

For each trackday ( im going to croft and oulton) im having them in.

Steve, you should consider upgrading the OEM pads (which even on your M6 are the utter rubbish Jurid 310 / Textar 4165 pads) to the Pagid 4-2-1 Black road pads. They give you a HUGE increase in performance, and yet don't squeal... They are a little bit more dusty though, but you can't have everything!!

Thanks for the info E92Fan.

Can you recommend any of the pagid pads you listed as a direct replacement for the OEM pads?

As a direct replacement for road use, but offering a massive upgrade in performance, get the Pagid 4-2-1 Black.

TBH tony that was the kind of thing i was after. Ant recommended the yellows as i said i was doing trackdays.

The performance of tbhe yellow is mega but the noise is embarrasing in the high st

when the yellows run out next year then ill just fit the Pagid 4-2-1 Black road pads and save the hassle of cahnging before each trackday.

I have a set of RS29 yellows, which I am intending to put on when I next go to the 'Ring in a couple of weeks time. I'll change back to the Ferodo DS2500 roadpads for the journey back...

I would love some 4-2-1 black pads for my 325 when they come out, but how hard is it to change them yourself?

He only has the RS19 Yellow track pads listed, for the 335i/d. The front pads for the rest of the E9x range have not been made yet, although they will become available within the next three to four weeks.

You have to release the front caliper by undoing the hex bolts, swing the caliper off the disc, then replace the pads, and put the whole thing back together again. Worth bleeding the brake lines as well at the same time. Or, take your car to a garage and pay them one hour's labour to do it for you

As I've already written above mate. You should get Pagid 4-2-1 pads on the front next time you need new pads

As far as I can tell this never happened.

You cannot get the 421 Pagid black pads for standard fitment 335i

Will the pads fit on the OEM brake discs? and do I need to change the brake fluid type aswell?...or will it work with standard BMW brake fluid?

What is roughly the price difference when compared to the BMW ones?

Hi,

I have been researching a fair bit, and it seems we maybe in the same boat.

You can replace oem pads with a number of different ones.

I have decided to use the EBC yellowsftuff pads

My understanding is that to replace the brake fluid is recommended, but standard will wrk, but perhaps not extract the mx performance from the pads.

but the standard lines are generally hardy enough for occasional track use and fast road

check out my thread on the issue, some good advice from other members on there
