PX and remap

Hi all.
I was quoted I think an OK PX for my F31 by a BMW Dealer today, against a second hand 540i G31. I mentioned the various mods and re-map, stating they could be reverted to stock if needed. For interest though, they also mentioned with the offer "Knowing the car has had a remap means we can’t retail your car regardless of if this was removed."

That sounds like a non-offer to me. "We would offer you £X but, as you've declared a remap, we won't".

It means it will end up as a non-AUC in the dealer network - its pretty much what the likes of Sytner Select is full of - cars which are decent, but have been either been modified, have incomplete service schedules or have excessive mileage for the age.

Failing that it gets shifted on to a auction house..

Be interested to see how much they knock the valuation for that since mine is remapped too.

Flags as soon as they plug it in now doesn’t it based on the images I have seen. Might be after the deal is done but not sure what will be in the wording never px d a car before.

Well I told them in advance (non-devilish behaviour!!), but they have still made the offer just added the information that they wouldn't be selling it themselves. I could ask if it made a difference to their offer, but I'd imagine they may not have marketed it anyway as it's at 64,000 miles - just a theory.

Let you know if I learn more.

Then it might not be worth px. You could even talk them up and get a higher value. They might appreciate the condition. Rather than the dealer trying to low ball you. Sites like wizzle have also recently been used by some forum members so worth looking into that too.

What's your reg and mileage?
I have a Parker's account so could check what your car comes up as if you want?
I'd also need to know what options you have such as m sport plus pack.

When I spoke to our local BMW dealer, they said anything over 5 years old or 50k miles will almost certainly go to auction. Could be nonsense as they didn't want the car we had but could also be dependant on the dealer I guess.

In general anything covering over 12k miles a year would
Be sent to auction. Not always the case but usually, of course it does vary dealer to dealer

Guess it depends on the condition and if they are short on stock etc.

Hi.
It's a 2014 F31 MSport+ 335d Xdrive. 64,400miles. 2nd owner after BMW. BMW and specialist service history (by Rossiters).
Estoril Blue. Black dakota interior.
Factory Extras HUD and Connected Drive Speed Camera.
Modifications I suspect aren't important? But in case, they are: OEM parts "gloss black pack" - front grilles, exhaust tips, rear splitter. LCI gloss black, backlit A/C surround.
AC Schnitzer springs.
Virtually new non-runflat Michelin Pilot Sport 4S.
Evolve re-map - power to just shy of 350bhp.
"Bad bits". 2x front 442m alloys could do with a refurb. Small dent to lowest blue lip at front, even tinier dent to top surface of rear bumper.
Cheers

Without a reg and just putting in 14 plate with that mileage and spec. this is what came up, see attached. Only benefit of reg is sometimes you can select different extras online but all of yours were there.

Wizzle might be worth a try.
Go for the highest offer you have of course.
Generally £60 is knocked off per damaged wheel as that's the insurance standard of a refurbish - but does not apply to diamond cut so double if diamond cut.

Front lower lip if you can fill in paint (DIY) to a high standard might add a bit too.

Similar cars are selling for £16,500-800 trade and those don't have lowering springs/map.

If you wanted to make a little more, you could pop to your local tyre place and stick some budget part worns on it and maybe make money on those tyres...just a thought.
