Oktoberfest at Watkins Glen

Anyone make it up to Watkin's Glen this past weekend?

Despite the pain in the ass weather, I was pleasantly surprised how my 335xi fared on the track. It was the first time I have been on a track in the rain so it was a great learning experience. With the mods I have on the car (Dinan stage 2, dinan exhaust, KW V3's, RE30 rims w/ PS2's), it was truly a blast to drive around. I was pretty psyched that never had to give a point over the course of 2 days!

The highlight of the weekend was when I had my instructor drove my car. Usually instructors drive their own cars, but my instructor did not have the right tires for the wet so I gave him the keys to my car and told him not to be shy. Now, this was an instructor only session and there were some heavily modded track only cars (30+ cars in total). There were only 2 cars that could pass us: a modded E36 M3 and a modded 911. My instructor hit speeds of 127-128 on the back straight and my oil temps were running in the mid 280's - no limp issues. The car chewed through gas - I think we were burning 1 gallon per 4-5 minutes on the track.

Anyone else make it up?
