2014 320d f30 heavy steering
Hi guys,
I'm new to this forum and new to bmw but after 10 years of driving I have just purchased a 2014 (63plate) 320d m sport and I absolutely love it! Now I have come from a Renault megane so I am aware that the beemer is rear wheel drive and a heavier car but the steering feels very heavy. Its not so bad going along but at low speeds and stood still it is heavy and in reverse its as heavy as a non assisted vehicle. The car has dunlop winter sport cross tread tyres (which I intend on swapping) but I can't believe that these are to fault. I mainly drive in comfort or eco as I drive short distances. Are these cars known for heavy steering or could there be a fault? Sorry if this has been covered but like I said I am new to bmws and have a few questions about my f30 so would be grateful if anyone could pm me so I could ask them so I don't flood forums with questions Thankyou |

F30s have EPAS, so steering effort in ECOPRO or Comfort should actually be very light. Even in Sport/Sport+, it's nowhere near as heavy as the E90 with hydraulic steering. It sounds like there might be something wrong. I'd get it checked out if you can.
