Blown F30 shock?

Greetings,
Today I was checking out my suspension on my 2016 340i with 22K miles and found that the rear driver side bump stop broke and I can see the shock. Does this mean I have to replace the shock or just replace the bump stop? 340i came with the M-Sport suspension.

Thanks!

Bump stop got loose

Is the shock leaking?

It seems cracked from what I can tell. And no, it is not leaking I think. It was raining all day today, came home and saw it like that. I'll check again once it dries just to make sure.

You'll be fine with a set of rear bump stops. I'd replace both to keep things even... and considering the fact that the job is very simple to DIY at home. They're likely sold in pairs as well.

Oh nice! I have to remove the entire shock to do that right? How long did it take?

Easy swap. With the right tools, an hour for both.

Watch Farkle's suspension how to video on you tube for the details on removing the rear shocks. He notes the tools you'll need too.
