I’ve never had to use roadside assist.
Why was it necessary in your case?

I was surprised at how little information about the service was handed over. I forgot to ask for details when I was there on Friday.

I want to double check everything before suspending my RACV.

Thought I cld get home with one puncture, but 10min later another one had apparently lost pressure and then finally all four. WTF?? How does one get all 4 popped ??
Was Friday nIght and late and there was a charred smell even after a short detour to a side street. And That flap-flappy noise that tells u the tyre(s) is quite out of shape (and prob had been for some time..). So asked for a tow which came quite promptly. Cabcharge to get home. The next morning it was sent to the dealer closest to home. And followed up by a text asking if a loan car was required. I don't remember Mercedes ever doing that. They send it to THEIR most convenient dealer and never followed up with other assistance.

Wow! Four punctured runflats at the same time. I’d say that has to be some kind of record.........unless of course, you’re driving a getaway car over a set of road spikes!
It sounds like your experience with Roadside Assist was exemplary.
That is very reassuring for those of us yet to experience this kind of service.

Yiaaa. Either a very bad coincidence or a purposeful act.
Either way looks like I'll waiting on those bloody Turanzas again that only seem to live in Sth Australia. Gawd help me

Actually, on that topic, any recommendations if I switch them all over ?
Fair bit of long distance driving for me

I ran Bridgestone Potenzas on my F30 for 7 years.
I had one puncture in the shoulder of a rear tyre about three weeks after getting the car (a diamond shaped piece of plastic from an indicator light fitting). Just bad luck. Tried repairing it but ultimately needed to replace the tyre.
Apart from that, no problems with them. Although I have heard others complaining that they were noisy....didn’t notice myself. The cure, of course, would be to turn up the Harmon Kardon.

You can consider switching to non runflats and have a repair kit in the boot. I run Michelin PS4S's in my other car - possibly they are the best tyres I've owned.

Haha thanks
Yes also had Potenzas last time round - they were ok. The continentals were quieter tho. Hmm.

Do you find the Michelins are better overall vs the Bridgestones

Yes. I now run Non-runflat Michelins and I feel they are definitely better with regard to handling, but this could also be a function of the xDrive system I have now.

I also have non-run flat Turanzas on my Golf, and they have been ok and do the job, but I feel they are not in the same league as the Michelins.....but, totally different cars.

If you want to retain the run flat system, I believe Michelin also do a run flat. Continental would be a good option too. I loved the non-run flat Conti’s that I had on my previous M3.

BTW, do you have tyre insurance? You seem to be prone to punctures and this might be an option for you. I have never had this type of insurance myself, but I remember a guy from the F30 forum swore by it, and used it extensively. Like you, he was often getting punctures in his runflats.

My wife and her 125i M Sport was unlucky enough to need them 3 times, and had praise for them every time. They would say be there is 30 minutes or whatever, and always be early. Always made sure she got where she needed to be. Made sure she was safe, and had already arrange a loan car for her when she got to the dealer.

Used them once when coolant level warning came on and they told me don't drive it or fill with water (which is what BMW service dept. told me to do) hold tight and we'll come out.

They were with me within 1hr (I was parked at work), filled up the coolant and ran some leak tests to make sure all was ok.

Super impressed. The fact they ran 3 different leak tests was amazing. Never had an issue with the coolant again and saved a trip to the dealers.
