BC Racing coilovers (one of the least expensive options) cost about $1000 + installation. You will also need a 4 wheel alignment. So the more realistic budget is closer to $1,600.
By the way, your experience with lowering springs is not uncommon. Lowering springs need to be typically paired with shocks such as Bilstein B8 designed to work better with lowering springs. Good thread to read: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1650583 Also - does your car have M adaptive suspension? |

Koni Yellow Sport dampers with one of the two choices of Eibach Pro Kit springs. there's a mild drop and one that's slightly more. not sure of the part numbers. Turner Motorsport has a sale you might want to check out.
Koni dampers & Eibach springs have a better ride and than Bilstein dampers or H&R springs. H&R and Dinan Springs sometimes have reverse rake. Bilstein B14 PSS if you want a good entry level coilover KW V1 would be the coilover i'd get but now you're in the $1500 range. |

Adaptive or shocks?
I've got a 2015 435i RWD with adaptive. My goal was to handle like my old E36M3 and Subie BRZ. I personally like just springs, shocks and a good alignment for aggressive street without dragging car parts all over the road. If you run the adaptive consider: 1. Eibach prokit progressive rate FRONT, drops car .8" (the rear on this kit drops .4" and point the nose down.) 2. Eibach prokit liner rate REAR, drops car .8" (the front springs drop 1.1", a little too low, so I just use the rears). 3. Keep the stock adaptive springs, 'cause it's nice to dial down the suspension on road trips. And no, they won't wear out, their dynamic range is dramatically different than a standard shock. This should land you at around $600. 4. Turner Motorsport Monoball control/thrust arms - this gets rid of that vague turn in feeling. You can also do the same with the M4 control arms. You'll get some pretty impressive turn in. This will land you at around $1000-$1100. |
