330i trade in to a 335i, Is this good?

So i just came back from Crevier BMW after having them officially tell me that Platnium Audio fucked my iDrive up so im going to have to see what i can do with that(that will be in another section later) And i just decided to talk to one of the CA's, Judi, and she basically got me this kinda deal going on right now where if i traded in my car right now, say its worth around 23-25000 then i would have a payment on a demo/used w.e. you want to call it, for only 192.67 to 222.something. was wondering if this was a good deal? Oh the 335i is $47650 if that helps, we really didnt get down any specifics, as like iDrive or anything, this was just a quick little "scan" i guess you can call it.

Edit: Amount financed 26784.14 if that also helps, the whole balloon thing, 16201 is what it will be worth in 5 years....

if they'll CPO it, then do it. Just keep in mind how you would drive a demo/loaner. I think there's even threads in here about a torn wheel and non premium gas used in a loaner. But if they'll CPO it, who cares. Only thing to remember is that it's a pain in the ass to continually take your car in for service.

I don't think loaners get abused as much as people think, unless they're taken to a track. If you think about it, how much damage can be done driving on the street unless you're intentionally doing money shifts and puposely abusive shit like that? Even if you drive it 150 mph on the street, so what? - they do this on the Autobahn every day.

My 335i and the wifes 335xi were both in the loaner fleets. Mine I got with 7k on it, and the wifes had 8k. Mine now has 24k and haven't had a bit of trouble.They even put 4 new tires on her car before she took delivery and also put a new windshield in it cause of a scratch.

Both cars looked and smelled new when we took delivery. I think alot of it depends on the area and the dealership you buy from.

Is the 0.9% financing on '08s still around? that would be a much better deal. I did a very rough calc cuz i'm lazy, seems like that deal has an interest rate of ~6%. Just from that alone, it doesn't seem like an impressive deal based just on the details you posted

Do yourself a favor, and keep the 330. Not only will you never have to deal with HPFP issues, but you hopefully will avoid what this guy is going through.

You'll have to pay way more than 2-something a month for financing 26784.14. Are you sure you got your math right? You'll be looking at around $500 a month.

Save your money, keep the 330i until they get rid of the N54. 3 model years and they still can't figure it out. I understand 1 year of problems after a new model year, but even until now you hear of HPFP problems. Now they're resorting to this kind of crap about the gas used...that's BULLSH!t.

if you financed $26784.14 over 60 months at 0.9% your monthly would be around $455 and your total payments are $27,300

based on your figures of

$222/mo x 60 mo = $ 13,320 in monthly payments

$13,320 monthly +$16,201 balloon payment = $29,521 total payments

the APR is ~4.5% (i used a loan calculator this time, instead of back of envelope calc like my original post)

That sales person is definitely pulling some funny math on you to come up with 0.9% interest rate number. Proceed with caution

I just ran the numbers.

P/Y=1
N=60mo.
I/Y= .9/12
PV= -(26714.14-16201)

The payments are coming out to $180.4502. Total payments are $10,827. So I don't know where the CA was getting over $200 from at 0.9%

I'm more worried about that balloon payment at the end. OP, are you really going to be able to come up with $16k at the end of five years? If you would have to take out a new loan to pay that off this is a terrible deal, just finance the whole thing at .9 now. You'll never be able to get a loan at that low of an interest rate.

Oh so is that how the balloon thing works? I thought i was just to ensure that thats how much your car would be worth. She never said i would have to come up with that money......Ugh either way though, i wouldnt be able to since i dont have no one to co-sign with me.

I used to beat the living crap out of loaners (when my dealer would put me in an Enterprise car), e.g. flooring it in front of a speed bump to make it jump, etc. On the other hand, I always treated "nice" loaners nicely - as if they were my own cars.
