Cirium Grey - water stains

Anyone else finding permanent water stains on mirrors, etc? I'm thinking I could get BMW to change them to black under warranty.

They aren't permanent stains, just very difficult to get out. They can be polished out and if you ceramic coated them you don't have to worry about staining anymore.

Thanks Burrcold.... I appreciate the insight but was looking for an excuse to force BMW to pay for the swap since I hate the grey

I don’t think you can make them swap out the cerium grey for black. At most, they’ll swap it out with cerium grey parts itself.

Exactly. If they are so badly stained that you could actually swing a replacement, they're just going to replace with cerium again. I had the same issue but once they were ceramic coated, they are just as easy as any other colour to wipe down now. I actually really like the cerium pieces...they offset and give some contrast that the black parts do not (my personal opinion of course)

I used to use CarPro eraser and then ceramic coating to protect it. Makes cleaning easier. But I since replaced grill (black) and mirror caps to carbon fiber. I use the previous method for all the other trim bits
