Clunk/Thunk when going over bumps...

Hi everyone -

I recently started experiencing a clucking/thunking noise in the rear of mt 2014 335i xDrive. I pinpointed the rear because I don't get the noise when going over a bump in the front at slower speeds, but then I get it when the car eventually goes over in the rear. It sounds like a thunk/tap, almost like tapping a cardboard box is the best I can explain it. I've removed everything from the trunk to try and eliminate anything in there shifting around and possibly making the sound but it remains. I also noticed that when I move my steering wheel the the left or right to it's maximum position, I get a slight creaking noise. I have service scheduled in about a week so they can take a look and was just wondering if anyone has experienced anything like this?

I had something very similar on same car. After my Indy mechanic went through troubleshooting on all of the rear suspension components that one would likely suspect, it turned out to be that the nut and bolt at the very bottom of the rear shock was loose. Tightened that up and the sound was gone.
