Automatic 1/4 Mile DS or Paddle Shifters
Hi guys I was wondering how you guys run the 1/4 Mile? I never use DS Auto, I always paddle shift when I drive like I am driving a manual. When I auto cross I use the paddle shifters, bu today I put the car in DS when I was driving on the NJTPK and from the toll booths I would take off and I could not believe how fast the car was. I think I may run a better time in the 1/4 in DS, I ran a 12.66 using the paddles I am going to try and use DS on wednesday and see what happens. What do you guys use? Thanks

I think if you gonna floor it like in the 1/4 the DS will redline it more efficiently IMO and would be slight faster than paddle shifting. Unless paddle is shifted perfectly.

D,DS,Manual, its all the same shit. Either way on the 1/4 you're going to run all the way to redline, and the car automatically shifts at redline so you dont even need to bother with anything else. Just floor it, D,DS,M1, whatever and let it do its thing.

So you think that there is no difference in the shift points or shift times or anything alse between D and DS? How do you know that?

There is no different if you floor it and keep it that way. It will shift automatically at redline in both D and DS mode. But if the car senses a bit of throttle being lifted it will upshift. So just to be safe DS mode will redline more efficiently i think.
