Turn Signal Blink change no more?
I picked up a 2014 428i the other day and I was trying to setup the turn signal count up to 5 but am unable to. I had it coded in another 2014 428i a couple of years ago and it was easy. After getting very frustrated I decide to go to bimmercode website and found out that BMW has taken out the ability to change that parameter? Is that really so? Can anyone confirm that please.
Thanks in advance. |

Your vehicle must of had a software update; vehicles built after 2016 no longer have the option via coding to increase the triple-blink setting.
I unfortunately lost it also since the dealer updated my software to get rid of a hidden iDrive fault. You'll get use to it. |

Noooooooo say it isn't so Poochie!!!
Why would BMW do that? That is one of the best coding mods there is. IMO Thanks for the feedback guys. I did it to myself as far as the update goes. Soon as I got it home I updated the software and Maps. I will know better next time. Anyway thanks everyone. Last edited by 428iSoCal; 12-11-2019 at 02:49 PM.. |

You do get used to it, wanted to set mine to 5 but my 2015 had been updated when it went in for a new steering rack so also couldn’t do it.

Is there any update on this? I have an idrive update recently and I'm missing the comfort blinker so much! Indeed the settings seems to be totally gone if I look into expert mode with Bimmercode..
Has anyone had luck bringing it back? EDIT: I just found that you can change it to 3 times in the iDrive menu: Via iDrive: "My Vehicle" "Vehicle settings" "Lighting" "Exterior lighting" For me there was an option for 3 times blinking.

Of course you can. You always could. 3 times is the default. But what we all want is 5 times. I have it coded on my Audi (5 times) and it makes it way more useful for changing lanes or exiting the motorway.

You're missing a lot more than that, although you're probably unaware of it. That's why I won't even go near a BMW shop. They'll update your software without permission, wiping any coding you've done and eliminating some coding and tuning options.

Not only 5x blinker, but they have also removed door handles light when reversing.
I had coded my car to activate door handle lights when reversing and it was super useful when paralel parking in the dark areas, you have better view on the curb. I coded this option to have better visibility and to protect my wheels, but sice I have updated software on the FEM now it's gone. BTW, door handle lights on reverse was a standard feature on a BMW's equiped with surround view option.

But indeed it wiped my coding and tune. So had to redo that all. |

Interesting!
That's good to know!! Not that I consider this feature anything but "show-off" to be honest, but why loose it… Maybe it is useful in your scenario and without surround view cameras indeed.
