UK tuning recommendation - E-Maps

A quick shout out for Simon Hall of E-Maps.

He mapped my old E91 330d Manual and I covered around 60-70k trouble free miles since the map.... so he was my first call when I picked up my F31 330d.

Both times he came out to my work which was super convenient.

F31 figures are now 310bhp and 650nm / 470lbft

Feels great .... and yet I still managed 51.5mpg one my stead 60 mile drive to work!

Thanks Simon.

Nice, how does the drive compare to before? I've read about companies offering a different map on the auto box as well but not heard any feedback on that front

Are the figures verified on a rolling road?

his original tune is.

To be honest I don't care too much for figures. It could be 260bhp for all I care... I just know that it pulls MUCH harder now so the "seat of my pants'o'meter" is happy!

Drive just like before... but with more power. IE. I don't really notice any difference until you put your foot down a bit more.

He didn't map the box, but I guess it auto learns a bit??

When I put my foot down at motorway speeds it seems less eager to shift down, rather uses the torque a bit more.

3rd - 5th are hilarious now though. The speedo moves round almost as fast as the rev counter. Love this car.

Got it. Cheers for clarifying.
You are right, figures mean less than actually how a care drives.

They have 'teamed up with a local dyno' so should anyone wish to get before and after print outs... it looks like you have to go to him and it will cost about £50 more than the remap cost.... which was £300 (someone else's price might be different as I guess travel costs are dependant on your location)

Had my F31 330d xDrive done by Simon back in May, put about 6k trouble free miles on it since and the car does nothing but put a smile on my face every time I drive it. The car just pulls and pulls and whereas before it felt a little lacking above 50mph it can now only be described as rapid at any speed you are likely to drive in the UK.

If it had 258bhp before, it must have well over 300 now.

It's nice the have the real world data of the rolling road before and after though.
I've seen enough clinical trials data to show me that the placebo effect is real. It's amazing how the human brain can convince itself that something is clearly better/working because the man taking my cash tells me it is. Watch Darren Brown in action and he shows the power of suggestion in action.

Simon remapped my F30 330d back in May. Got 650NM / 470ibft running about 310bhp. Had no problems whatsoever and car pulls really great. I really rate Simon. Would use him again if I ever changed cars.

Agree, Simon is a great choice for remapping your car. I’ve had 2 cars done by him now, my current one was remapped 18 months ago to 325bhp and 660nm and it goes very well for a 30d

Had mine done by Simon a couple months ago, still love the car and it's going strong!

Here's my review, for anyone interested. I'll drop an update when I get time.

Thanks for this post, I've been looking for someone local to do remap with plenty of recommendation/review. E-maps is only 8minutes drive from me! perfect
