335d xdrive now gone - depreciation

Bought my 2016 335d gt in August 2018 for £17,200. Spent £200 on tints. So £17,400

£0 spent on maintenance or servicing.

Just sold it after 13 months for £15,500 to webuyanycar.

Depreciation worked out £146 per month. Not bad going.

Wondering what car next to get.......

Where did you buy it? If it was a dealer purchase then you've done very well, if not then still pretty good for a model that's been replaced in the time that you owned it.

Yep I lost 40p per mile on my M3 over 90,000 miles and 3 years.

TBH he's not really driven it, most keen cyclists will do more miles per week on their bike.

Bought it from a car supermarket 2 years old (1 year bmw warranty remaining) and traded it in after the warranty expired.

Agreed - think it works out around 40p a mile. If I did high mileage (say 50k miles a year then depreciation would have only been 8p a mile or so).

I think this works out to retention of 91% of its value in a year.

Either way I’m pleased for the performance and duration that it cost very little.

Very much looking at f10 M5’s now

Yep, I was the same with my 440i, think it bled a "little" more than 40p a mile due to low mileage.

Bought my 320i M-Sport Auto new and paid £27,000 after a 24% discount.
Part exchanged it for another BMW (pre reg 420i M-Sport with 35% off new price) when 3 years and 7 months old with 36k miles for £14,035.
Works out at 36p per mile.....but still £301 per month depreciation.

Mileage makes a huge difference. I reckon my 530d has cost me 32p per mile over 2 years and 3 months having covered 48,000 miles. (based on 12k depreciation and 2k on tyres and a service).

Bought my 2013 at 3 years old with 38k on it, for £23k. Have since put another 80k on it, comparable cars on Autotrader are about £11k. Pretty happy with that.
