435d Xdrive remap - recommendations
Hi everyone
Just picked up a 68plate 435d convertible and wondered what people would recommend for remapping? I have already been advised to use a plug in box rather than engine remap to reduce potential warranty implications. Thanks in advance |

I had my 330d remapped by Evolve 4 months ago and it hasn't missed a beat. Been in to BMW for a service and also had an MOT in that time and no questions asked.
Plus the acceleration above 50mph is insane 😁. Highly recommended. |

Boxes are fine if you want a hassle free solution that can be easily removed at any time, but with OBD remapping now they are largely redundant.
Plenty of threads on here, and loads of remappers to choose from. Where you go will largely depend on where you're based I would guess. I've run both boxes and remaps on the 30d engine, if you want ultimate performance it's going to need to be a remap.

I drove upto Unicorn Motor Developments in Stockport. Would recommend them, they actually map it on a rolling road.

Another vote for Durham Remaps - who also use a rolling road......but their numbers are very optimistic. I was one of the many that got over 400hp (413!)
Me thinks all their figures are about 10% out |

Remap
I had my f31 335d done by rick at unicorn a few weeks back ... I’ve known rick for years from my rs4/rs6 days and honestly you won’t go wrong. The 335d is deceivingly quick post map. I had a mk7.5 golf R estate also mapped by rick prior to my 335d and can honestly say they’re on a par and I’d say the 335d is slightly quicker.

i got mine remapped by gbw tuning - massive following within the bmw community. absolutely stunning now. but before getting a remap, get the transmission flashed - xhp. i have both, and can honestly say, if i had to choose only one, it would be the xhp transmission flash, its that good. you can put it on and remove it yourself, so no warranty implications.
official times of 0-62 mph in a constant 3.9/3.95 seconds can't be argued with for a 435 !

I got mine through Mulgari motors in Bracknell, only reason i went with them is that they offer drive train and engine warranty with their tune, have no complaints with the map, have had it for 25k miles, very smooth and pulls hard when needed
I have the alpina gear box update and also Racechip XLR throttle response box which makes the drive really enjoyable Apart from the map you'll need to update the dampers (expensive) or springs to ACS and rear ARB's to get the best out of the car |
