M sport steering wheel re cover?
Got myself a spare m sport steering wheel to get re covered at Royals.
Was originally going for alcantara, but after some research I'm having second thoughts. Alcantara seems to need a lot of looking after? So I'm now thinking perforated at the sides, nappa top and bottom, silver stitching, and maybe a black centre line. Your thoughts and or experience with either would be appreciated! |

Do they really need much work to keep looking good, perhaps a wipe over every now and then?
If you really don't want it then I reckon your second choice is perfect....apart from the centre line as I'm not a fan. are you going thicker? |

Alcantara is a nightmare to keep clean, I had one, never again!
It is designed to be used with racing gloves, not a road car exposed to daily hand sweat/grease. |

I jumped in a mate's A45, I thought my wheel was bad. At least I can wipe mine down to get it clean again, his looks fucked!

I'm thinking of getting mine done but don't fancy alcantara.
I like the look of the thicker perforated wheel...something like this.

Thanks for the replies.
Got a mail back from Jack at Royals £170inc plus £10 return postage for alcantara. I have mailed him again for perforated sides, nappa top and bottom, silver/white m performance stitching (I believe it's silver?) I'm gonna go for this. |

After seeing this post I decided to get my wheel recovered at Royals. The original was shiny and the colour had come out the top of the wheel after attempting to clean it so decided it was time to renew. I decided on the perforated sides with M colour stitching.
Looks and feels great and very happy with the quality and finish. All for £155 Before and after |

Is your wheel heated? Mine is so not sure if this will increase the price? Also, which method do you go for - did they send you the wheel and you sent them your old one once fitted? |

No, not heated unfortunately. I decided on getting them to fit it as it just seemed easier that way. Booked in via email and they charged £20 to fit which took about 30 mins. Arrived at 12:20 for my 12:30 appointment and they started bang on time and finished on time too. I paid a £50 deposit via Paypal and then the remaining £125 after it was fitted. |

Think I'll use Royals when the time comes as that perforated leather looks good. 100 mile trip each way for me to have it fitted though so will have to make it a day out for her indoors - which is probably going to cost me a lot more than the wheel
