Farewell BMW

I decided after 13 years and a total of 7 cars to have a break from BMW. Pick up my new Audi A6 S line 40 TDI S tronic on Wednesday.

My car have been:

(E60) 5 Series saloon 520d 2006
3 series Coupe 320d 2007
(E60) 5 series saloon 520d 2008
(F11) 5 series touring 520d 2011
(F11) 5 series touring 520d 2014
(G31) 5 series touring 520d 2017
(F30) 3 series saloon 330d 2027

I've really enjoyed my cars and ever since my first BMW I've been hooked. But over the past few years something has been missing - i don't get that special feeling anymore like when I did with the E60 and to a certain degree the F11.

So I've bitten the bullet and I'm going to give Audi a try. First impressions after lots of test drives are positive. Like BWM, they are when pushed, willing to discount heavily especially when you give them you car history and I think they see it as a coup to get me to buy one of their cars.

I shall be loitering on the forum as I really enjoy reading all of your experiences, the knowledge sharing and general camaraderie.

Farewell....for now.

Interesting car history. As for myself I've never bought a car of the same make one after the other - I prefer to get a different make each time as it makes it seem like more of a change.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the Audi - I might go back there myself next time.

It refers to the KW output I believe. It's a mild hybrid that has 12v motor that uses energy from braking store it in Lithium ion battery for coasting and powering alternator - well that's my understanding.

So i think their badging is 35, 45 for petrol and 40 and 50 for diesel.

Yeah maybe I should have changed brand more often - well I've made the move now so hopefully it won't be one I regret.

But 55 can be petrol, diesel or electric (I think they also do e-trot as a 50 now..)

Confusing but makes sense as cubic capacity becomes less relevant...
