Tyre insurance
What are people’s thoughts on this? Obviously not going for the BMW quote of £350 for 4 years cover but I have had the misfortune of 3 nails in tyres in 3 years meaning new tyres!
Surely any puncture is likely to mean two tyres in any case due to wear and the need to have tread depth which is similar. Am I missing something? |

Well, if you have to replace a second tyre, you've still got the part-used tyre, and can sell it, thus not being out of pocket.
I know aftermarket insurers don't cover the sort of case you're talking about, if you want to find out if the BMW insurance does then I suggest you ask them directly |

It was a relatively marginal loss for me. One irreparable puncture in the 4 years (~65K miles) that the cover applied - I lost about £100 but obviously would have quids in if I'd had a second claim.
Personally I wouldn't bother next time.

totally agreed. 300 quid for tyre - and wheel - insurance for three years is pretty good imo. I've already scratched 3 out of 4 alloys so well worth it!
