Anyone ordered a 325i with Type 162 wheels?

Does anyone know if it's possible to order a sport packaged 325i with the type 162 wheels from the 330i sport package? How much extra would it cost? I don't see it as an option on the web site.

Thanks.

Most all who have 325s and 162s here have done this as an after car purchase addition. BIGWILL was selling his 162s, and MORR Alloys (Carlitosz) is selling 18" 162 replicas with more aggressive offsets.

It´s not an option. That´s why you don´t see it. It´s only a factory option for the 330xi with sport package and it´s included with the 330i when ordered with sport package.

Check with your CA/dealer...I believe a small number of dealers out there would be willing to do part exchange/swap at PDI/final dealer prep...

It would not be an exchange or swap as the buyer would need tires as well as wheels. The Styling 162 wheels cost significantly more than stock wheels for the 325i. They might offer a reduced price however but I am not sure how much market there would be for take-offs from a 325i.

Hold out for Carlitosz... His company's (claimed) low-pressure casting process is much better than most aftermarket and OEM rims. Much stronger than traditional gravity casting.
  I am going more and more crazy every day I look at my 156's thinking to myself, "Why the f*** can't BMW put at least 17's as standard rim size on a 30-plus thousand dollar car!!!"  Even Grand Prix's come with 17's....

I think they want you to upgrade or get 330i

I also agree that the 156's are too small but I think it's pure marketing strategy. But remember that there are other countries that have to pay a lot for alloy wheels as well...

I agree, but at least they can get 162's as an option for a 320d (I believe it was a 1200 Euro option for the 325i). There are many standard features on my car that I would have gladly traded in favor for better rims. For example: sunroof, cupholders, rain-sensing wipers, etc... I just wish we didn't have to buy an entire package just to get one thing out of it (sport package).

I was trying to figure out why this was piqueing my interest and then I remembered that you have 162s on your 325, right? So you had to buy them separately and sell your OEM wheels I assume...

Well, not really, since I have a 330xi. The 162s were on the car when I picked it up at the factory.

I also have Styling 159 wheels for my winter tires.

I know the feeling.

But otherwise, what you said made total sense.
