"A" Column cover removal

Hi

DO any of you know how to remove what I believe is called the "A" column trim cover i.e. the trim covering the right and left windscreen pillars with the "Airbag" badge on. I want to conceal some wiring behind the trim (the aerial wire from the Pure Highway DAB unit).

Thanks

Tony

Tony, most in car equipment fitters remove the door rubber and then slide the wire in behind there. they dont always remove the A pillar trim.

Thanks. I PMd a guy in the US who had replaced his headlining and all related interior trim with anthracite trim.

The answer is to remove the "airbag" badge and then remove the torx screw underneath. Apparently the trim then just pulls off.

Be careful fitting them again as its very easy to break the plastic clips. It does all come off quite easily. Have a look at the threads in the DIY section.

Do you just pry off the "Airbag" badge?
Thanks!

+1 - thats exactly what I did on my E93 when fitting the car phone kit - a lot easier than trying to remove the trim and can't cause any damage!

Slip the door seal rubber out of that way, install cabling and refit, that's the way to do it.

Thanks Richard. I was just worried I'd somehow fire off the airbag and knock myself out

Richard.. any tips on putting the A pillar trim back in place? The reason i took it apart is the garage had put it back on all jacked up.. in fact the plastic edges that stick out werent in the appropriate grooves... I guess tomorrow I'll fiddle with it to try and stick it back in there... its kind of a pain in the b#tt!
