Ipod Connector

I bought my M3 kind of on an impulse off the BMW lot a few months ago after visiting the Audi dealership to see how long my S5 was going to be. Long story short after leaving the dealer I went to BMW and saw my car. Only problem is that it does not have the ipod connector, it does have the auxillary port. Is there anyway that I can buy the ipod connector with the usb and get it installed now?

You can buy the BMW OEM iPod interface as a accessory from your BMW center. It works using the CD changer connection. You won't have a USB socket, but you will get a Ipod connector in your glovebox.

The interface works for the most part like the 6FL interface, with some small differences.

There is a mapping between CD01, CD02, CD03, CD04, CD05 and CD06 to
Playlist, Artist, Album, Track and All tracks.

If you go to the BMW website there is actually a video of the interface working and you can see it for yourselve. Shop around a bit. Some BMW centers charge way too much labour to fit the interface. Also there is a long thread running on e90post on this subject. This might be helpful.

There was some talk about BMW releasing the 6FL option as a accessory, but there this never seem to come to light unfortunately.

Good luck.
