renting time in a Spec E30 in norcal?

Guys,

I'd like to try out a Spec E30 car in a DE environment. Do any of you know anyone or any company that would rent me time (1 or 2 20 min DE sessions) in a competitively setup Spec E30?

thanks,
Nick

You might want to contact the guys at Edge Motorwerks in Dublin, CA. I know a few of the employees there have E30s and go to the track regularly. Might be something that you can arrange. Or just ask around Bimmer Forums or something, they have a lot of E30 guys over there.

Do you have a particular contact person? It would really help the conversation I think.

I guess I could just walk over to the E30 section of the paddock next NASA day and start asking around

Not particularly. I know Erik is the guy who owns the place, but he's got an E36 LS2, not sure about E30s. I believe the gal Sarah and her fiancee Tony own an E30?

Thanks for the heads up. I'm no where near ready to throw down $$ to purchase a car!

Part of me is concerned there will be reliability issues with no added performance benefit compared to a spec miata. I'm hoping to try both with rented cars to see how I feel about it

Just a round trip plane ticket. BMW guys are ballin' out of control. Until you investigate and report back, I won't be able to get this thread out of my mind whenever I see anything e30 related.

Wish that were true bro! Believe me, if I was balling out of control I would be going to DEs in a GT3 RS not a 3 series

Next NASA norcal DE is Aug 23, I'll scope out the Spec E30 scene and report back if I get any leads on seat time in a car

With this, you on track with Mike Kim of PureMS would be a mirror match.

That is an e30 right?

I have no experience with this and hell, I'm on the opposite coast but just came across this today...ever think Spec Miata instead? http://www.californiadrivingadventur...als/index.html

I might be taking some flights to California next year and doing rentals so I'd be interested if you did find a source for Spec E30 rentals in NorCal.
