Hi,
I have a 2014 F32 428i equipped with NBT from factory. I’d like to upgrade to NBT Evo to get all the new features mine doesn’t have. What will I have to do after I buy an head unit, screen and new design controller? Here are my questions: - Do I need to rewrire something? - I know Evo uses ATM (or TCB2) to get gps signal, can I buy a brand new one from my dealer and get them to pair it with BMW servers even if my car is originally equipped with TCB1? - Do I need to change my roof aerial? Again, something to rewire? - Do I need to buy a new FSC set to get it to work? I already retrofitted LED headlight on my car, so I have a little bit of experience, but the head unit wiring diagram it’s just too complex so I just ask here. Thank you for your time Last edited by TBGaming; 04-25-2019 at 03:17 PM.. |

Thanks, just watched the video. He starts out with a CIC, isn’t it easier with NBT? Anyway I printed the wiring diagrams for NBT and NBT EVO so I can identify all the differences. Maybe I can avoid using that quad lock adapter and just repin mine...

Ok, I can already update the thread with some information.
- The quadlock pinout is very similar between NBT and the new EVO, only a few FBAS wires that on the old NBT were on A42*3B are moved on 1B, and obviously pins 17, 18, 19, 20 on EVO 3B are not present before, so I can probably move them from the NBT quadlock. I’m still studying those diagrams, so I will update once I have more informations. - I will need a new FSC set, they range from 50 to 130 EUR. - I’ll need some new roof aerials and antennas, luckily those are not too expensive and I already found some on eBay. - The ATM retrofit is very expensive because it’s not possible to retrofit a used one. I’ll go to the dealer to get some information when I have some free time. My main concern is if the new ATM is already active on the BMW servers when I get it. I need to be sure since it costs more than 600 EUR. Anyway it needs a complete rewire since it runs on Ethernet and my old TCB uses USB. |

I know I don't necessarily need an ATM, but I don't want to loose ConnectedDrive services, for exhample RTTI is very useful to me. |
