Has OBD port power after lock?
Hi everyone, I've found a cheap hud that shows current speed and it plugs in the obd port to get speed data and power. Sometimes I leave the car parked for a week so I need the hud to shut off otherwise it will discharge the battery.
The question is, do the obd port have power after the car gets locked. Or the power cuts off like it does with 12v plug, idrive etc? |

I have an aftermarket HUD and the display goes off when the car is off and the doors locked. If the display is off I doubt it could draw enough current to bother the battery even if the power is still there. I don't think the power is there anyway, because if I plug my OBD diagnostic tool in with the ignition off it doesn't work.

Curious as to what HUD you have. I've looked around and never found one that received great reviews. Thanks!

I have a Navdy (which is now defunct), but the firmware and app have been hacked/decompiled and new features, maps, etc....have been added.
It works great for me. |

Navdy went out of business, huh... I looked at them, and it seemed pretty good...just never pulled the trigger.
