Excuse me if this has been answered but I am search challenged I think. I bought this car a few months back and the previous owner said he turned off active sound cause he did not like it. I wanted to turn it on with bimmercode and see what it was like. It says its been deactivated and to turn it back on use a back up. I don't have a back up. How do I turn it back on without one. Thanks

It a 2016 328I 6MT Harman Kardon Surround Sound, Nav, Track Handling Package, Premium Package. July 26 of 2015 car.

You need to go into expert mode. I faced a similar challenge...

I got the Enet cable coming and will consider that for sure. It seems with bimmercode it should have not been a problem. But it looks like expert mode does it too in bimmercode just have to do a little more research not to brick the whole thing. Again from reading post I don't want it anyhow, plus I do plan the "real thing" (an exhaust) this summer.

You can do it with the Carly app, but you'll need to purchase the app and most likely a different Bluetooth adapter. Not sure if it's worth going through all of that tho...
