Have you seen the open-pored wood trim in person?

Call me crazy, but I'm thinking of ordering an M-Sport 330i xDrive with Cognac leather and the oak grain open-pored wood trim.

Has anyone seen the open-pored trim in person?

I would normally go for the aluminum tetragon, but it seems like aluminum overload. The matte finish of the open-pored wood might be subdued and look good with an M-Sport.

the aluminum hexagon i've seen in person and i agree it might be a bit too much. the pattern on it makes the aluminum feel cheaper. I am hoping I can get the other aluminum instead if I buy an msport

See image, and the video it's from below. If you want to go with a leather+wood interior look, this would be my choice above the glossy finishes for sure, but of course each to their own.

@F30X,

Great choice, I am with you on both the seats & dashboard wood.

On my current F30, I have the gloss wood grain and, quite honestly, it looks like plastic and like the idea of wood grain showing through

I’m also with you on silver/chrome overload.

Just placed my order this morning with this trim without seeing it BUT went with my gut because it’s matte, dark and different. It doesn’t look like plastic in pics.

My wife's 2018 X1 has similar leather color and open pore trim. Looks really sharp.

I actually think the open pore wood makes the interior look nicer and more expensive. I wouldn't hesitate to get it with the M Sport.

I have it in my X5 and it is nicer in my opinion then the flat gloss trim. Nice texture to it.

Amazing trim! Thanks for the idea, it also makes the center console look less cheap as the plastic there isn't great around the shifter.

This open pore option appears to appear gray, without any brown hue. Am I correct? If so this might be the first wood trim I've ever considered.

Yes, it's black/gray. It doesn't have any brown in it. The one I've seen in person was more of a deeper dark color. The one from the video may seem a bit lighter/pale, but I think that's the lighting.

That’s good to hear. I went with Oyster and I didn’t want any brown in my black and white scheme.

The aluminum trim gives me goose bumps.
I am going with Black Vernasca Leather w/blue stitching +oak grain open-pored.
