ECUs Missing in TAL Processing

Hi guys, looking for some insight here.

Previously I installed BM3, which broke a lot of things and I was advised to update all my ECUs. I did that and it fixed all my issues so I assumed that I was on the latest version of the firmware.

I was coding and wanted to enable some things such as Compass in my Kombi, but realized that my firmware was too old. Upon digging, I discovered that I needed cafd_00000069.caf.010xxxx for it to work, but was currently on cafd_00000069.caf.009xxx.

This sounded strange as I thought I had updated my ECUs successfully. I can confirm that I've got the latest psdzdata, I've checked and the cafd_00000069.caf.010xxxx file exists in there

So I brought up ESYS and it is telling me I am still on:

Using this guide http://www.bmwesys.com/guides/E-Sys%...CU%20Guide.pdf, I went to update my ECUs, however it isn't showing me any ECUs

Vehicle is a 2012.03 F10 535i, but I posted here since the f30 forums are generally more active.
Thanks in advance!

Which E-Sys version do you use?
First i would try to use another version (3.27 is still most recommended).

Thanks for the suggestion, I'm currently using 3.27.1

I hope the problem will be solved.

It's interesting that you are not the first forum member to mention that F3x community is more active than other communities.

If you have "update VCM" unchecked in options, then, I-Step will not change.

Good catch, the I-Step didn't change because that setting was unticked. Is there any other way I can tell if I have the latest firmware? I can see newer CAFD files in my psdzdata, but they weren't updated to my car. Any chance that I would potentially have to do incremental upgrades up to the latest one?

I'm looking for the latest CAFD so that I can (potentially) enable a compass in my Kombi

Thanks

Just running TAL calculation and checking for SWFL changes.
You can also write updated I-step to car after flashing with VCM tab.

Thank you, I'll give it a shot when I have some free time. Is it safe to assume that whatever CAFD version is in my psdzdata should be updated to the ECU?

Yes. Sometimes highest numbers are not always selected for injection.

I'll let you know how I go. Yes interesting but I suppose not surprising. F3x outsell all other models, hence the larger user base
