PDC w/M Sport Question - 2011 E90 LCI 335i

Hi everyone,

I have a 2011 BMW E90 LCI 335i with M Sport performance package (including front/rear M Sport bumpers of course). I want to retrofit my car with PDC on the front and rear, but everything official says that PDC is not appropriate for the sport package. What I want to know is why? Is it simply because the M Sport bumpers were not drilled for the sensors, or is there something else (some kind of obstruction behind the bumpers). If all I have to do is remove bumpers and drill holes, then I can do that all day long. Has anyone done this on a car with M Sport?

Thanks,

Nicholas

I retrofitted rear PDC to my car, Not overly complicated. But I personally wouldn't drill the bumper.

There is no reason why the PDC wouldn't be appropriate for the sport package. I have the sport package and my PDC are fine. The first owner of your car just decided not to get the package probably.

I'm the first owner.

Anyway, I figured out all of the parts necessary for the rear, but I'm still trying to figure out the wiring harness part for the front.

Why not drill the bumper? How else do I install the PDC sensors unless I drill the bumper or purchase a pre-drilled bumper?

Does anyone happen to know a part number for the front wiring harness (or part number for a front PDC retrofit kit) that will work for the 2011 Sedan? I found a part number for a retrofit kit for a 2011 E92 which might work, they should be very similar, but I'm not certain. Also, I read in a few places that the reason you can't put PDC on cars with the sport package is because the front bumper carrier gets in the way (at least on the sedan). I'm going to take my front bumper off soon and verify what the situation is for me before getting the parts for the front. At least then I'll know if I need to retrofit the front bumper carrier as well, or modify the existing carrier.

I don't believe BMW made a retrofit kit for the front PDC for E90/E91, only E92/E93

Yeah, that's what I'm finding as well. Maybe I'll try the E92 version. Before I do that, I'm going to look up assassinsbrotherhood's 2010 in RealOEM and see if I can find the part number for his car. That should surely match my 2011.

Nich bmw e90 with m sports packages had front pdc just not in NA so if u can source the part number or parts from a euro car it should work.

Thanks everyone. It will be a month or two before I do this retrofit. I'll post here how it turns out.
