Replacing seats

Hello, I'm swapping my passenger seat for a 2008 328i from a donor 2006 seat. They're both heated, when doing this do I need to disconnect the battery before i start swapping them?

not necessarily, but if you're worried doesn't hurt to remover the negative terminal. Takes 10 seconds to do.

The airbag light will only come on if you hit the ignition button while the seat harness is disconnected. Otherwise, its ok to do it with the battery connected

I swapped the seats but the seat didn't have power to it? It's from an 06 to an 08?

I recommend you disconnect the battery. Takes one minute and you avoid potential issues.
