Fuel pump warning light
Took my e90 to the gas station and told the attendant i needed premium but the F****** guy didnt pay attention to me, put regular in and now my fuel pump warning light is on and my car can barely accelerate let alone get me to work. What should I do? Thanks in advance!

Don't do full service, drain tank and refill. But the car should run on regular unleaded with reduced power. Are you tuned? Almost sounds like straight E85 which if thats the case, drain the tank.

Thus why I said it should run on regular unleaded with reduced power, due to timing being pulled. But with it having other issues, like fuel pump codes perhaps it was filled with E85 and is running lean because the pumps can't keep up.

2) Please describe the location and appearance of any "fuel pump warning light" you are referencing, as I am NOT aware of one on my 2007 328xi (E91). 3) Scan DME for codes & post here. 4) Please describe/attach photo of, any warning lights displayed on instrument cluster. 5) How many miles did you drive AFTER fueling BEFORE you noticed any performance issue or warning light? 6) How do you know what grade (AKI) fuel was put in your tank? The N52KP engine runs perfectly on 87 AKI fuel. I've run nothing else (cheapest station I can find) for nearly two years. You/ Your Car have/has other issues. George |

87 octane won't cause your car to not accelerate, so whatever happened is coincidence and not related to lower octane fuel. |
