Mods suggestion - E93 (with pics)
First of all, hello guys! I decided to post my first thread, even though I am pretty sure that this has been asked numerous times.
So, right now I am on the market to buy an E93 and so far I have already spotted one, which I am planning to buy. However, I want to also just think about what possible mods would make this baby look better, so I can make a rough estimate of how much more money I will put into it. As you can see from the attached pictures, the color is a little bit specific. I haven't seen many like this. It makes it a little bit difficult to come up with ideas for visual mods. I don't like the 17' wheels, which will most probably be the first thing I am gonna change. However, I don't know what color rims would suit. Should I just go again for the same color, just different wheels? More info about the car: It's 325d and it's not a real LCI model, the bumpers and the lights are changed, to make it look like one. It has real 133 000 km on the gauge, but it is been maintained only in BMW with a service history and taken very good care judged by the condition of the car. It's the basic trim, so I am open to interior mods suggestions as well. I will be very happy to hear what do you guys think! |

- Some kind of diagnostic/coding device (read on that on the coding sub-forum). This should be your number one. And would probably help you when you actually commit to buying it
- For rims, I think style 313 would look nice on it - A not-too-crazy rear spoiler - Folding side mirrors if you don't already have them - Upgrade the stock iDrive in the future - Set aside $2000 for maintenance |

About the folding mirros, does it usually come stock or there is an additionnal module which has to be installed? Also what upgrade are you referring for the iDrive? |

I'm not sure about the cope what's standard and what's not.
But if you don't have it, then you will need the full side mirror, minus the glass and the caps. You will need to code it. So investing in a coding setup will help you in the future. I personally have the Bimmergeeks Protool, and works great for my needs. I bought their bluetooth OBDII adapter so the whole setup is portable. You can get a much cheaper setup with a cable and a Windows laptop. That would give you way more power, but for my current needs; I opted for portability and convenience. As for the iDrive, you can get the updated look (NBT) or add the ability to mirror your phone to the iDrive display. And be able to stream music and control it through the steering wheel. |

The e93 SHOULD come standard with folding mirrors IIRC. It's the little button by the mirror adjuster.
Also, do a "chrome delete" vinyl wrap the chrome around the windows and the chrome up front on the grilles and bumper. |

What AlpineE93 refers to is the little cicular button on the top left.
https://www.picclickimg.com/d/l400/p...iver-Right.jpg If you have this button, then you have folding mirrors. Oh, and if you do plan on a retrofit; then you do need the switch as well +1 on chrome delete. |

Other than my own your car is the first I have seen with the wingie thingies on the bumper. I like 'em. One thing that would improve the car is some of that Tire Wet stuff. Go with the gel. You'll be amazed at how such a cheap thing can improve the look if your ride.

I have black LCI E92 SE. Was happy with front until i parked next to Msport LCI. What a difference the front bumper can make. My car was involved in a light scratch to the front bumper and i fitted a Msport version at 3rd party expense. You can pickup a complete front and rear from salvage yard but the price can be a bit hard to digest. |

Bro, don't worry about updating idrive or folding side mirrors. That can be done later on.
Get this thing looking road worthy first, then you can mess around with those types of things. In order what I would do right off the bat. 1st. wheels and suspension (if you plan to lower it) 2nd. black kidney grills 3rd. wrap the silver interior trim black (silver just doesn't go with the seat color) 4th. tint

I would be looking at any photos of the car, not just the color specific ones to get ideas of wheels

Really not sure what's with tying the colour of the car with rim style!
Is this some kind of new trend! Isn't it enough that BMW restrict certain colors and rim with specific packages/models? Now we dtart enforcing some extra restrictions? My only advice is to go with OEM rims or really high quality aftermarket ones. |
