New Owner of a 335i e92! Have lots of questions, need help!

1. Passenger seat latch to get in to the rear seats isn't working properly.
2. Can someone send me good links to good undercarriage shields.
3. Any things I should know as a beginner when it comes to owning a BMW? I have 2009 335i e92. It has 90k miles.

Get yourself a way to read fault codes, that is if you want to know what's going on with the car.

I myself have Bimmergerks Protool: More expensive, you can't do everything, easy to use
Others use a cable and a laptop = Much cheaper, you can do everything, has a learning curve

#1. That's yucky. I think you will have to take the seat apart, or at least just pry off the latch housing carefully to see what is going on.

#2. I would simply google that. I recently saw that part at bmwpartshub.com/oem-parts

#3. Do you have the history of your car? I bought my car new in 2009 and still have it! Seems like there aren't many of us left. My car has 103k miles now.

Critical things I have done:

Water pump (and thermostat) at about 50k miles. https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=784416

Walnut blast at 45k (see https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1029521). Installation of a oil catch can (which I was skeptical of) has really helped with intake valve build up of oil/carbon.

Replaced valve cover gasket (VCG) at 60k.

Replaced right front axle assembly (CV joint - I have an XI model). Not too hard to do, my left one is just starting to make noise.

Replaced plugs numerous times and Replaced injectors when I did VCG.

I'm pretty religious about changing oil more frequently than most. (Flame suit on!) Every 5k or even just 3k if I think I drove it hard. (I used to track this car extensively - it has over 60 track days.)

My alternator failed twice. Major biotch to change it. Took the first opportunity to replace the oil filter housing (OFH) gasket. Yes, I had to remove the frigging OFH to replace the alternator. https://www.e90post.com/forums/showt...5#post20322995

I have really, really enjoyed the coilovers from KW that I put on many years ago. They are still nice and improved the quality of handling and even the ride greatly. I do not use run flat tires, they are a fail. (Well, I haven't tried the newer ones, but the thick sidewalls just remove some of the feel.)

Best of luck to you.

Cheers!
