HRE Wheels | Track Ready F90 M5 with HRE RC104's in Satin Gold!

Here we've got a lovely F90 M5 which will see some track time for sure! For his Track Beast we wanted to get a set of RC104's on there to help lower the weight significantly and to also give it some updated looks!

20x10 fronts with 285/35/20 tires
20x11 rears with 295/35/20 tires
HRE RC104 - Satin Gold Finish

Thanks for taking a look!

I weighted the wheels before we released them to the customer, here are the weight figures as compared to OEM, it's quite impressive:

HRE RC104:
20x10 - 22.00lbs
20x11 - 23.20lbs

BMW OE Competition Wheel Weight
20x9.5 - 28.00lbs
20x10.5 - 29.50lbs
Weight info was taken from this post

HRE Weight Savings for RC104
Fronts - 6.00lbs per wheel saved - 12lbs in total up front
Rears - 6.30lbs per wheel saved - 12.6lbs in total on the rear
Total weight saved, 24.60lbs of unsprung weight.

For those of you who want to save even more, then these bad boys would do the trick, a set of R101 Lightweights in 20":

HRE Weight Savings for R101 Lightweight
Fronts - 9.8lbs per wheel saved - 19.60lbs in total up front
Rears - 10.7lbs per wheel saved - 21.40lbs in total on the rear
Total weight saved, 41.00lbs of unsprung weight.

20” cast oem front = 35lbs. Rear = 36lbs. That would be a 52lb savings in rotational weight with the HRE.

Unbelievable weight savings with these. I think a Brushed Clear finish would bring out the design of the RC104's even more. I can't wait to get a few of these on some F90's.

There is a small range of offsets that can be used for the R101 Lightweights. Was there a specific F90 M5 that you had seen with these wheels where you wish to replicate the fitment from?

Post above shows the R101 from HRE showing widths and weight differences. What are the offsets that HRE plans on offering these in?

The ones shown weighted above were for our F90 client who was the very first to get the R101 LW's on an F90 M5. We've been building the R101 LW's for this vehicle at ET 23 & ET 29.

Feel free to email me directly if you'd like more information - David@WheelsBoutique.com

So those pics are of the exact same OEM tires mounted on the slightly wider RC104 rims?

It's actually a wider tire mounted on wider wheels than stock

The gold is an interesting look. Have you got any images showing the gold in more of a gloss finish or even the hre 540 with the gold/gloss lip?

Here's a good look at Gloss Gold on S101's. For the 540's I see a Brushed Gloss Gold done but not a Gloss Gold. I can share those images with you as well - David@WheelsBoutique.com

I've got a question for all you wheel and tire gurus.

I want to go with 21" wheels but stick with the PS4S tires, rather than go back to PSS's.

That means I'll probably stick with a 275 tire on the front (same as OE width), but go to a wider 295 on the rear (given there is no 285/30/21 size for the PS4S).

Does this present any issues for the 4WD system etc? Since I've gone one size wider at the rear but stuck with OE at the front, and the diameter of the new tire combination is a slightly bigger difference between front and rear?

Anyone upgraded to the below sizes and have any feedback?

F:
21 x 9.5
275-30-21 Michelin PS4S

R:
21 x 11
295-30-21 Michelin PS4S

Haven't set up an order like that yet but if you want to use those tires I can certainly accommodate and build you a 21x9.5 up front and the 21x11 we do normally on the rears for sure.

How much to put a set of these on layaway? Being three piece, Id figure them to be somewhat less than the mono-block ones.

Meaning how much are they?
