Winter wheel / tire combo options and prices

For those that have purchased from the dealer...what did you pay per unit for the following?

36-11-0-003-049. (Non staggered with Michelin)

36-11-0-003-050 (staggered front)
36-11-0-003-051 (staggered rear)

If I want staggered the back order situation may keep me without tires until late December. If I go non staggered it will just be a couple of weeks. Clearly staggered looks better but I am also thinking about the benefits of a narrower tire in winter. Any thoughts?

Please find attached information on the winter wheels and tyres available for your M5.

To confirm The Ferric Grey wheels come with 4 x 265/40R19 102V XL Michelin Pilot 5 tyres and are available within 2 days at the moment.
The Orbit Grey/Polished wheels come wih 2 x 265/40R19 102V XL Front and 2 x 285/40R19 107V XL Rear Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 tyres. These will not be avaiable to at least the middle of November.

As for storage, this is possible. The wheels and tyres can be stored at BMW. The cost of this is £72.00 to store summer tyres and £72.00 to store winter tyres. Total yearly payment of £144.00. This charge is applicable even if wheels are not swapped over (i.e warm winter).

The price for the fronts would be £935 each, the rears would be £975 each + fitting.

I've run a four-square setup using the front tire size for the last nine years on my E60s and F10s. Works well, but I did lose a little traction from the narrower tire. The narrower rear tire is better for driving in snow, but the difference in width is minimal so I'd guess the benefits are minimal. I think the benefit of a four-square setup is even less on the F90 platform with all wheel drive.

All else being equal I prefer the aesthetics of the polished orbit grey staggered winter set to the ferric grey winter set, but as you noted the ferric set is supposed to be in stock over the next couple weeks whereas the staggered sets are delayed until mid-December due to availability of the rear tires. Given how quickly winter has come upon us in the northeast (and the M5 is my DD), I'm not sure I can wait for the staggered setup to be available.

Not in the US. The ferric grey sets are delayed until mid-November and the orbit grey staggered sets are delayed until mid-December. BMW/Michelin did a really poor job rolling these out.

You guys can order the wheels and pair with pirelli sottozeros. I know they aren't quite as good as the Michelin's, but I doubt there is a huge difference unless you are really in the snow belt, especially with awd and being careful. I've run sottozero 2's on my e90 m3 and never been left stranded.

AGS have you been quoted any prices? (I'm in NE also). Also, do you happen to have any decent pictures of the two different wheel styles. They look the same yet the description is different = ferric gray.

I'm in the same situation as you...driving around in this cold weather with the stock 20s and Michelin's summer sneakers. Not fun...

This is the price quote I received from getbmwparts.com:

Staggered setup in Orbit Gray Polished
36110003050, 9.5x19 front, 839.87 ea
36110003051, 10.5x19 rear, 872.87 ea

Square setup in Ferric Gray
36110003049, 798.07 ea

I believe the orbit grey polished are the same as the standard 19" wheels that come on the base M5 (but I'm not 100% sure). there are pictures of the ferric grey wheels in this thread:

Chicago-based BMW dealer is saying that there are no F90 M5 wheels available for purchase Stateside- they're backordered. Anyone know anything to the contrary, and if so, who is stocking them?

In Canada

M5 (PK507)
Style 705M (Alloy - 36 11 0 003 050/051)
265/40R19 102V XL
285/40R19 107V XL

Non-runflat
Michelin Pilot Alpin 5

$6,050 + taxes

($450 + taxes cheaper for square setup)

* Installation / Labor may be included at some dealers while others do charge around $150. Therefore, buyers will have to negotiate the install.

Michelin doesn't have a W rated tire for the back and Pirelli only has a V rated winter set.
Hopefully Michelin releases the proper rear in November

I need them with CCB's, 19" wheels don't fit my car.

Shouldn't have a higher speed rating in the front

I less than 1/2" clearance on the fronts, no way will 19" wheels fit mine.
I can just get a flat plastic rule behind the calipers.

Has anybody researched aftermarket wheels and tires?

Tire rack shows nothing, but I’ve always put a square setup of narrower Rials on previous cars. Don’t really care what they look like for the winter.

What’s the smallest diameter rim we can fit with steel brakes?

Thanks!
