Comp Tyre Pressures
Hi Everyone,
Out of interest, what pressures (PSI please) is everyone running? Will this vary by manufacturer ie Michelin and Pirelli? |

I run 32/33 cold. I think this is recommended.

Thanks Vic, is that on Pirelli or Michelin? Mine was running 41/42 from the dealership which seems pretty high to me....I know they usually over inflate them for aesthetic purposes but could not find the usual sticker on the M5 showing the proper inflations...

On Michelins--- I think 41/42 is way too high and for fully laden units. I used the door jam to guide me .

I recall seeing that there were two recommended parameters for tire pressures depending on Vmax. It read something like "for > 250 kph then an increased tire pressure of xx recommended and only one passenger...." I looked in the technical manual sticky thread but it didn't mention it there. Higher pressures (with-in manufacture limits and also so as not to diminish contact patch) do make sense for high speed stability but around town and at normal highway speeds I imagine it would result in abnormal wear pattern over time.
Plausible that that f90's ordered with Mdrivers package +/- comp might be default set to higher tire pressures? Last edited by northtorque; 10-10-2018 at 09:18 AM.. Reason: additional comment |

The high pressure from the dealer is probably the shipping pressure. Mine were set to 50psi at delivery, I had to manually lower them.
