Great. lol. For some reason I thought the car had Bluetooth without ordering Assist. Stupid me.
Looks like the best option is to just buy one of those Bluetooth mirrors. My wife has one and it works pretty good. Guess I will get one too. $100 is way better than paying over $1,000 to have the "assist package" installed at the dealer. Damn.

Well, I inquired at the dealer for the cost of retrofitting Bluetooth into my car. He said they could not do it...unless I had Premium Pkg. or Assist.
NO SHIT! lol. If I had prem or assist I would have Bluetooth already! lol. I don't blame my CA one bit for the answer. He checked with the lead tech and that was his answer. I don't expect my CA to know these answers, but I do expect the lead shop guy to do a little fricken research! I already found the parts on the web....if I bought them, I bet they wouldn't know how to install them because there is no document procedure from BMW on how to do it! Sheez. Looks like either my Jawbone (I hate earpieces!), the wifes Bluetooth mirror, or not use the phone in the car (which I am leaning towards).

I did my own bluetooth retrofit in my old 2003 X5 4.4 so if that is an option you may be able to do it yourself and then just take it in for coding and update of the VIN to the database as it notes. Maybe an option. Hope your CA gets you good dope this time on what to do. I have CA and it is very nice!

I showed him the info and got a quote for about $750 for parts and $400-$500 labor. Damn! I don't think it is worth it. I don't use the phone THAT much and prolly would not use ASSIST at all. Guess I will stick with the Jawbone or steal my wifes Bluetooth mirror! lol.
$1200++ for Bluetooth is a bit steep! Thanks for the info nonetheless!
