Might want to check with Dinan - I believe there is a certain # of days after purchase date to register it for warranty coverage.

Just called dinan. The time doesn't matter as long as the vehicle still has the 4 year factory warranty. I think what you're thinking about is the product warranty which is 2 years from the date of purchase if the car does not have factory warranty anymore.
