DVD now selectable on my iDrive?

I just had my car serviced, because of a rare, but annoying intermittent problem that pops up and fixes itself every now and then. The SOS error message would prevent me from using my iDrive, and loading data into the iDrive screen.

A module was replaced, and now both the DVD and CD option are selectable within the entertainment screen. I haven't tried inserting any DVDs into the player, but I imagine it may be for audio DVDs?

Excuse the poor image quality, but it's taken with my Blackberry in bright daylight.

haven't tried audio dvd but dvd mp3 works.

Yeah, I just tried it with a movie DVD, and it said something like "No supported audio media detected in either drive." So it must be for DVD-A or simply DVD mp3.

sweet, should be for both dvd-a and dvd mp3. do you have both of those to try?

yeah mine plays 8.5gb DVD+R DL mp3 disks. thats alot of mp3's

I don't have DVD-A to try but I doubt it'll play it.. just standard audio/mp3.

MP3s using the DVD drive has been available ever since I got my car (Nov 2006)...

Maybe it doesnt show up in the older progmans unless you have a DVD loaded...I don't remember. If you put in a DVD of MP3s, though, it will work.
