Small Bump. Bollockx

Your thoughts please fellow forum members on the best fix:

Pulled into a car park and stopped in a space. I saw the fence in front and thought I needed to pull up further and didn't see the 9" wall, nether did the parking sensors either. I don't think it's too bad, I was only going at a snails pace and to if you didn't know better you wouldn't see it. But I know it's there and need to get it fixed. The bumper hasn't moved and all panel gaps are looking good.

It's pushed the little lip and there's a wee dent too.

Here's the other side to compare:

I bought mine at 2 years old and 28k miles. The front spoiler was stone chipped so I got a local guy to spray all across the bottom of it - charged me £80 cash. He (rightly) said that it would soon get chipped again and this has happened. If I was you, I would go down the route of either forgetting the bump or getting a modest paint job done.

That's easily fixed. Local bodyshop or a ChipsAway type service. <£150 for sure.

Good man maths solution is to get the MP splitter, as above has mentioned.

Chips away wanted £250 to do mine. As mentioned, I paid £80 cash. If you are as tight as me, thats your option.

Cheers, I hadn't thought of a splitter, that seems like a good option.

I'm off to see a local body shop to see what they say and if it's only a couple of hundred, I'll just go for it. It will need to be sorted sometime before it goes back.

I've taken the route of accepting it's happened and it'll happen again, so I'm not wasting money on it (as with kerbing alloys).

Should be between £80-£100 to get that fixed with a decent smart repair .. you won't notice it at all on the lower part of the bumper if the guy who does it is half decent at his job.

Get it wrapped and it will cut down on chips and scratches.

Best advice ever.

I had a similar encounter with a concrete fence post on the rear, had it repaired, they removed it, heated it to push out the dent and resprayed the whole bumper, it was a flawless job and I have much more faith in it than a smart repair. £220 all in.
