530D P/X for an M5 Comp Pack

Found the perfect M5 and after a week of negotiating managed a great trade in on the 530D. They even agreed that I could remove the M Performance Carbon interior and other bits.

The interior will fit straight onto the M5 (doors and dash)

So the M5 is a 66 plate registered in October and has had one owner who has covered 8,000 miles

Black Saphire Metallic
Silverstone Merino leather
Competition Pack
B&O 1200w sound system
Alcantara headlining and pillars
Icon adaptive LED headlights
M Performance seats
Comfort access
Split folding rear seats and ski hatch
Powered boot open/close
Surround View and reversing camera
20" 601 Competition alloys
Online Entertainment
Speed limit display

It was due a service in October but they agreed to do it FOC, it only cost £49 to change the insurance for the last 6 months of the year.

I haven't seen the car or driven one but can't imagine I will be disappointed. Spoke with the previous owner who sounds like a really good bloke who had the car machine polished and ceramic coated from new and really looked after it. Will collect it next week and am really excited. 600bhp

Wow that's some upgrade, performance wise. Think you might be dropping by the fuel pumps a bit more than you have been in your 530d. Although it will be worth it. Great car, post some pics when you get it.

Yes used to 43mpg on average so moving to 23mpg seems right though twice the power and half the economy

Will put some pics up when I get it

Sounds like a fantastic spec. The F10 M5 is one of the cars I would love to own - it's such an all-rounder. If anything was going to tempt me out of my car early it would be one of those.

A car like that could easily lead to ban if you get carried away!

Sounds like a great car. I find myself perusing the used M5 adverts every so often and thinking that those 12-36 month old cars must be the most car for the money there is around.

Me too. I would be interested to know what BMW charge to extend the warranty on one. As a car to run for perhaps 6 years it might not cost a great deal more than a new high spec 3/4 Series. Perhaps some gentle man maths would be required, but nothing compared to the Fields Medal stuff we sometimes see on here.

In essence I have got a car with an RRP of £94K that probably sold new for £66K for in the region of £46k

Given it has 8000 miles on the clock and 16 months warranty I would say it's good value and given its spec will always be more desirable than many other M5s.

That's assuming that Silverstone leather is not a deal breaker over black.

Two rear tyres are not much more expensive than the 530D

It has 16 months warranty left and then an extended warranty would be about £100 a month ish

If it's a high mileage then it would be higher

It's not stupidly expensive for the performance it offers

That's not too bad. The warranty for my 335d is £48pm and as I locked it in before the car has hit 60k miles, it should stay at that plus inflationary adjustments. Perhaps the M5 warranty is the same - it can be locked-in?

As an alternative to a new high spec 3/4 costing £40k, the ownership cost may not be that different over 4-6 years. The M5 should hold its value a little better, to offset the other increased costs.

I think it would be the wrong time to replace my 4 year old current car which I have had from new, but in say 2-3 years the next model M5 may well be in a similar position. I have to have at least one more V8 in my lifetime before we're all forced to buy some white goods Tesla/Dyson/Hotpoint EV
