OEM Ipod USB adapter question

Hello,

I was just wondering if OEM iPod USB adapter will allow me to access ipod via steering wheel? (such as track search/skip)
I used to have aftermarket iPod adapter, but never had OEM before.
(btw, what aftermarket iPod options are available now?)

can anyone answer me so I can decide this option when I order my M3?

Thank!

Dude don't wanna be rude to you but that's the 2nd thread your posting about the ipod adapter. If you 're still hesitating why don't you just add it. I personnaly think that you better put 350 bucks in something that u might not use 24/7 rather than not taking it, and spend your entire life regretting it.
And to answer your question, yes you can change songs using the steering wheel, how cool is that hein.
But seriously man, M3 is the kind of cars u wanna have more than enough options rather than not having enough ;-)

You can certainly use the steering wheel buttons to skip and move to the next / previous track. However, when you combine the ipod interface with i-drive, you get full control over your ipod, by searching by Genre, playlist, artist, song, album and see full tracks infomation for the track on the display. Using the i-drive controller makes selecting music on the ipod very straightforward. Best ipod interface available so far for a car.

Get the 6FL option - it's lightyears better than the OTC kit from BMW.

OTC = over the counter, it's an Alpine-manufactured kit.
6FL = option package for iPod integration when ordering your BMW.
