M2 Competition Nürburgring lap time ? Officially 07:54.

So I got some info sent to me from the dealer regarding the Competition, amongst the blurb was a lap time for the Nurburgring, knowing that the standard car is 7.58 does anyone want to guess how much faster the Competition is?
I'll update later with the time.

Well they advertised the M4 at release was able to do a 7:52. Quicker than that?

But the M2 Competition is 2018 and not necessarily that 2015 test mule version.

I'd expect it to be a second or two within the m4 times?

More exactly, the dealer info goes like this:

These modifications and the 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine from the BMW M3 / BMW M4 reduced four seconds to the lap time of 7.58 minutes on the Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit. Thus, the performance enters the territory of the supercar, with cars like the Lamborghini Gallardo, the Porsche 911 GT3 and the Ferrari F 430 to reach similar times in the same track during tests carried out by the German automotive magazine auto motor und sport.

ewww... does BMW deliberately make M2C slower than M4?
I always thought the M2C would be faster than M4......

Exactly! It would be unacceptable for them and market that the M2 would be faster than the M4. We will be surprised by (how good will be) the “real” times, not only nurburgring but also 0-100 km/h.

Moreover, who cares about ring times?

Well it's heavier than the M4 for one ... but let's ask the question this way.

Does Porsche deliberately not put its best motor in a Cayman??

So that was the "2015 M2 CSL" . :

But that's ok it was still slower than the time for the M4 GTS which was something around 7:28 right ?

The F430 stopped production near a decade ago

It matches the Gallardo Superleggera's 7:46 set back in...2007

The current GT3 did a 7:12

Even the Renault Mégane RS 275 Trophy-R did a 7:54 in 2017

May they should have rephrased it "the performance enters the territory of the supercar from a decade ago"

Well, we all know for a fact that the F80 M3 and F82 M4 were released in 2014.

Just imagine for a moment that they would have released that rumored 'Kraken' in, say, 2016.

The 991.1 GT3 was claimed round the 7:30 mark. The .2 was a big sea change just like the .2 GT3 RS. Theres vids of stock m235i's doing 7:5X with good drivers, so they're obviously under representing the times the M2C will be capable of.

Only 4 seconds on a big track like Nurburgring is surprising. Not that it really matters..
