Oil electronic meter
Hey everyone hows it going?
i just had a question about the electronic oil meter on the car. i have a 323i 2009. The oil was at min a few days ago, it said "+1L" meaning the oil was really low. so i added a little oil, i'd say around 1L. next time i start the car its back at max. the oil meter. is there a problem with the oil meter or was the oil never low? thanks! |

The oil meter measures the last quart of oil in the pan. It measure the 7th quart only. So, when it first reads that you have ‘extremely’ low oil you actually still have ~6 quarts.
You did the right thing by adding a quart to make the total 7. There is no issues with your oil meter. |

To monitor your oil look at the graph .Be aware
that it takes the oil level readout awhile to update and settle down and as stated only measures the top quart or so of oil. This device is the subject of many threads and frustrated users. |
